Perception is reality when it comes to selling a home. If it looks dirty, potential buyers will start wondering what else hasn't been kept up — so it's worth getting a few key areas in order before you list.
Exterior Walkways & Siding
The first surface a buyer's eyes are drawn to is the sidewalk, followed by the siding and windows. If screens are torn, replace or remove them. Make sure concrete sidewalks are pressure washed and that your siding is professionally cleaned if it needs it.
Windows
Clean windows are a huge plus before listing. Buyers will look in and out of them, and dirt, cobwebs, and insect residue on the glass and frames are the kind of thing they'll notice right away.
Interior
Carpets should be vacuumed and professionally cleaned if needed. Dust everywhere, including air vents, and remove as much of your own belongings as possible so buyers can picture their own things in the space.
